Charity fund-raising in 2005/06

Over £2,000 was raised by Steventon Choral Society for local charities at various concerts during its 2005/06 season.

A concert of highlights from Mendelssohn's Elijah for Voices for Hospices in October 2005 at St Matthew's Church, Harwell, lead to a donation of £1,364 to Sir Michael Sobell House, Oxford.

December saw a popular concert of Christmas carols and seasonal music in Steventon Village Hall that raised £560 towards the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

The Spring Concert in St Michael & All Angels Church, Steventon, resulted in a donation of £227 to the Church for the purchase of new hymn books.

Steventon Choral Society continued its record of giving to charity by helping to raise a grand total of £2,151 during the year.
