In March 2005, the choir supported the Blue Ginger Tsunami Fund Raising Day in Steventon Village Hall by providing a short programme of songs from the shows as part of the afternoon entertainment.

In February 2010, a 'scratch' concert of light music from the choir's repertoire raised over £1,800 for the UNICEF Haiti Earthquake Children's Appeal.

Voices for Hospices

Steventon Choral Society continues to support Sir Michael Sobell House, Oxford, as part of Voices for Hospices.

In October 2009, a sing-in of Handel's Messiah in Steventon Church raised £850 including £190 via JustGiving.

In October 2007, a sing-in of Handel's Messiah in Steventon Church with 62 singers raised £850.  The sing-in of Mendelssohn's Elijah in Harwell Church in October 2005 with 56 singers raised over £1350 for Sobell House.

In October 2003, we again led a sing-in of Handel's Messiah in Steventon Church as part of Voices for Hospices 2003. A choir of some 50 voices helped to raise over £1000 for Sobell House.

We also took part in the previous BT Voices for Hospices in 2000 and 1997, again raising money for Sobell House with a sing-in of the Messiah.

For many years the choral society ran a stall at the Christmas Bazaar in Steventon Village Hall. In December 2005, our stall raised £120 for Village Hall funds.
