Choir raises £700 for children's cancer ward

Ticket sales and donations at our Christmas concerts in December 2002 helped Steventon Choral Society raise £700 for the Children's Oncology Unit, Ward 4B, at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Each Christmas, the choir chooses a charity to support. This year's choice recognised the dedication of the Children's Oncology Unit at our local hospital in helping the teenage son of one of our choir members to overcome cancer. A fit and healthy Ross was in the audience for the concert in Steventon Village Hall on Thursday 19th December.

The choral society is particularly grateful for the generous donation from the Ridgeway Golden Years Club following our concert at its Christmas party in the Loyd Lindsay Rooms, Ardington, on Thursday 12th December.
